How to Log In to Your ASUS Router

To begin, make sure your device (computer or phone) is connected to the ASUS router’s WiFi or is wired via Ethernet.

Follow these steps:

  • Open any web browser (Chrome, Safari, Edge, or Firefox).
  • In the address bar, type:
    http://router.asus.com or 192.168.1.1 (default IP address).
  • When prompted, enter:
    Username: admin Password: admin (unless you’ve changed it).
  • Click Sign In to access the ASUS admin dashboard.

How to Change Your ASUS WiFi Name (SSID)

Want to give your WiFi a personalized name? Here’s how:

  • After logging in, click on Advanced Settings and choose Wireless.
  • Find the field labeled Network Name (SSID).
  • Delete the existing network name and enter your preferred name.
  • Click Apply to save your changes.

Your router will reboot, and your new WiFi name will be active.

Keeping your WiFi secure starts with a strong password:

From the Wireless tab, ensure WPA2-Personal is selected for authentication.

In the WPA Pre-Shared Key field, enter a new password (8–63 characters).

Click Apply to save.

Your router will restart to apply the new password.
